Christmas Program Livestream Information Dec. 13

The Elementary Christmas program is Thursday, Dec.6th at 1:00 and 7:00 pm. The title of this year’s program is “ A Cozy Cottage.” The Elementary Christmas Program is coming soon on Thursday, December 6th at 1pm and 7pm. All students in grades 1-5 are involved. For the costume, this year all children in 1st-5th grade will wear pajamas (or pajama-like outfits, such as sweatpants and a t-shirt.) There is no need to purchase pajamas for the program--they do not have to be Christmas-themed or anything special. Christmas-themed is ok, but NOT required. Regular school shoes or hard-sole slippers are fine. Since the children will have to walk outside to get to the auditorium, regular slippers are not allowed. Students will wear their pajamas on December 6th for the 1pm and 7pm shows.

**The 1:00 pm performance will be live streamed for grandparents and friends to

view from afar J. https://livestream.com/fpdmacon/events/7959970

More Borax Crystal Info

Today in Science Lab, fourth grade students created their "starter kits" for making Borax crystal ornaments. They are bringing these home today.

The slides that we went over in class were so helpful that we thought we would share them with you on the blog as well. We can't wait to see all of the Borax crystal ornaments on 12/6!!!

Digestion Quiz

Our Digestion and Nutrition quiz will be on Tuesday, 12/4.  Both a study guide and quizlet are located on the right side bar.  This quiz will include vocabulary, labeling the digestive system, and identifying the food groups.  A printed copy of this study guide (front and back) is also in your child's binder.  Thank you!

Borax Crystals

On Thursday students will receive instructions and "starter kits" for making Borax crystals at home.  These completed crystals will be due next Thursday, 12/6, however students may bring theirs to school before the due date if they would like.

Parents, part of this experiment calls for boiling water and a glass jar, so the children will need your help with that part of the process.  Everything else that they need to create their crystals will be sent home on Thursday.

These beautiful Borax crystals are always a student favorite!  Feel free to email me (shannon.bryant@fpdmacon.org) if you have any questions after the instructions and starter kits come home.  You can also click HERE for a helpful video, or HERE for more information.  Please note that students will not need food coloring as we are using colored chenille stems/pipe cleaners.

Have fun--we can't wait to see all of the crystal creations!!!

Manners Luncheon Field Trip

Manners Luncheon Reminder
Wednesday, November 14th

We are so excited about our manners luncheon that will be held on Wednesday, 11/14.  Remember, students are allowed to wear church clothes to school that day-no jeans, t-shirts, flip flops, etc.    School uniforms are also perfectly acceptable for the lunch, if that is what your student prefers to wear.

Thank you to our fabulous host homes for making this off-campus lunch possible!  We are looking forward to a great time as we put into practice some of the things that we have learned during our manners unit!  As Emerson wrote, “Life is short, but there is always enough time for courtesy!”
