Exciting News!

After being on the waiting list for months, we learned this week that a spot has opened up for our students to visit the Burton 4-H Center at Tybee Island on April 29-30, 2015! We are so excited about this overnight field trip. Go ahead and save the date while we finalize costs and details. More information will be sent home in January.

Cranberry Christmas Storytime

Mrs. Betty Ragland came today as a guest reader to her grandson's, Wyatt, class to read A Cranberry Christmas. She shared cranberries and two varieties of juice with students and even had them vote on their favorite. What a special time as we celebrate the Christmas season!

Sharing God's Love!

Today our 4th graders shared the joy of Christmas with the residents of Flint Memory Care!  The children sang carols, gave gifts, and swapped stories and smiles with the precious men and women who live there!  We feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to take part in this class field trip!

4th Grade Christmas Crystals

Today in Science Lab students compiled "Borax Crystal Kits."  We hope you enjoy working on these ornaments at home and watching these beautiful crystals form!  Completed crystals will be due by Friday, December 12th, however they may also be turned in early.

There are great online instructions and ideas found at the following link:

We can't wait to see what the students create!

Digestion and Manners Test--Helpful Pictures

4th grade students have been working so hard in class these last few weeks as they have learned the various parts of the digestive system!!!  We are playing a fun relay race/review game with these in class, so students are working as table groups each day to label these as quickly as possible.

We have covered many definitions and vocabulary words during our study, however these 8 body parts are the ones that will be included on Thursday's test:  mouth, esophagus, stomach, pancreas, small intestine, large intestine, liver, and rectum.  The labeling portion of the study guide is blank so that your child can practice filling these in at home, however below is also a completed picture that will be helpful as well as they prepare.

Thank you, parents, for all that you do!  We appreciate you!!!

4th Graders ❤️ the Backpack Ministry

Fourth graders in Mrs. Thigpin's class packed 40 bags of food for the Backpack Ministry this morning. It was such a treat for the students to have the opportunity to share God's love with homeless elementary students through this ministry.
