Jekyll Site
Thank you so much for coming to Open House last night! As you complete the field trip form, we thought that you may enjoy some additional information about our Jekyll trip. Our annual trip to Jekyll is such a highlight for the children each spring!!!
We will spend one night at the Jekyll 4H center and travel by charter bus there and back. Our trip is hosted by the Jekyll 4H center, a program run by the Park Service and the University of Ga.
We stay on site, and the children are accompanied by parent volunteers, 3 FPD teachers, and 1 FPD administrator. We will have a meeting in the winter to go over details about our specific itinerary and discuss our parent chaperone lottery, but this link will be helpful to you in seeing the facilities and the programs available. http://georgia4h.org/4-h-centers/georgia-4-h-at-camp-jekyll/environmental-education/
The children will have a chance to sein with nets in shallow water, walk through the marsh and maritime forest, and enjoy classes led by Jekyll staff. It is a wonderful trip, and feel free to ask us if there are any other questions you have after looking through the site! We are looking forward to a wonderful year!
